The last time Ishan Kishan played was in the T20I series versus Australia, which followed the ODI World Cup. He was also a member of the Indian team that faced South Africa in two Test series, but he requested a break due to mental exhaustion.

Shreyas Iyer pulled out of India’s team for the last three Test matches against England due to back pain. He also chose not to play in Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy quarterfinal matchup against Baroda.

Shreyas Iyer, though, will represent Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy Semi-Final, according to TOI.

Prior to this, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had issued a warning to the centrally contracted and India “A” cricket players regarding their non-participation in domestic cricket, stating that such a move would have dire consequences.
