An international publicity campaign for Akbar Khan’s ‘Taj Mahal: An Eternal Love Story’ has been crafted for its first overseas release, introduced one country at a time. The journey began with an exclusive private screening in Kuala Lumpur in honour of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar bin Ibrahim, on August 11, 2025.

This special event was attended by high commissioners, ambassadors, cultural leaders, distinguished dignitaries and ministers of the Government of Malaysia.

As a follow up, the Ambassador of India to Indonesia, His Excellency Sandeep Chakravorty, is hosting a private screening. This special screening is scheduled for December 13, 2025, in Jakarta, attended by high commissioners, ambassadors, cultural leaders, distinguished dignitaries and ministers of the Government of Indonesia.

Carrying this strategy forward, the Jakarta screening follows the highly acclaimed Kuala Lumpur event that earned remarkable appreciation and sparked palpable excitement among Malaysian audiences awaiting the official release. The Indonesia screening marks another significant milestone in the film’s global journey.

His Excellency Mr Sandeep Chakravorty, the Hon’ble Ambassador of India to Indonesia, has taken a profound initiative anchored in the belief that the Taj Mahal stands as the world’s eternal symbol of immortal love, harmony and peace. These values transcend borders and unite humanity. Through this cultural endeavour, His Excellency aims to strengthen warmth, synergy and shared heritage between nations, enriching the exchange of art, history, architecture and collective goodwill.

A grand commercial rollout follows, beginning with the world gala premiere in Kuala Lumpur on February 6, 2026. The film will arrive in Indonesian cinemas on February 13, 2026, aligned with Valentine’s Week, and will be distributed by Indonesia’s most prestigious distribution company, PT Omega Film, known for its association with global cinema giants and its track record of releasing celebrated Hollywood blockbusters.

‘Taj Mahal: An Eternal Love Story’, directed, produced and written by Akbar Khan, is a historical epic and a lavish production he spearheaded. It is a sweeping cinematic masterpiece that brings to life the unforgettable bond between Emperor Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, whose love inspired the creation of the Taj Mahal. With grandeur, emotion, loyalty, sacrifice and breathtaking visuals, the film captures one of the greatest love stories known to mankind.
