The Path to Peace by Savio Rodrigues launches on Kindle

Savio Rodrigues

Conflict is rampant all across the globe in today’s time, and the prevalence of this conflict presents several challenges to peace and unity. Conflict often fuels polarisation and division within societies, deepening rifts between individuals, communities, and nations. Armed conflicts and political instability give rise to humanitarian crises, including displacement, refugee flows, and human rights violations, exacerbating human suffering and inequality.

Global conflicts pose threats to international security, destabilising regions and undermining efforts to promote peace and cooperation among nations. Prolonged conflict erodes trust and confidence in institutions, governments, and international organisations, hindering efforts to build consensus and resolve disputes peacefully.

In a conflicting world, the pursuit of peace, understanding, and unity requires concerted efforts from individuals, communities, and nations alike. By promoting dialogue, cultivating empathy, investing in conflict resolution, addressing injustice and inequality, and building bridges across divides, we can navigate the complexities of global conflict and work towards a more peaceful, just, and harmonious world for all.

In a world fraught with discord and confrontation, author Savio Rodrigues has come up with ‘The Path to Peace: Conflict Avoidance the Jesus Way’, which provides a transformative framework for navigating interpersonal disputes and fostering reconciliation. Rooted in love, forgiveness, and understanding, ‘The Path to Peace’, tells us how the teachings of Jesus offer a profound and timeless approach to conflict avoidance.

At the heart of Jesus’ teachings is the principle of love. He is the stone that was rejected, but when you look at his teachings objectively, you will see that his teachings are the cornerstone to conflict avoidance and conflict resolution.

He exhorted his followers to love one another unconditionally, even their enemies. This radical concept of love transcends boundaries and invites individuals to see beyond differences, fostering empathy and compassion in the face of conflict. By choosing love over hostility, Jesus exemplified a path of reconciliation and healing.

Savio Rodrigues, the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Goa Chronicle and Incubees, is a journalist and writer by passion, and an entrepreneur by choice. Rodrigues’ philosophy is simple- ‘It is better to throw pebbles into a jar of water to allow the water to rise, instead of throwing a large rock, and having the water splashed all around.’

Speaking on the release of his new book, ‘The Path to Peace: Conflict Avoidance the Jesus Way’, on Kindle, Savio said, ‘On Mother’s Day, it is with utmost humility that I gift my mother one of her dreams for her son. She always wanted me to write about my understanding of Jesus’ teaching and be a peacemaker.’

‘So, I decided to write a book in my free time, on a topic I understand and work towards- “Conflict Avoidance”.’, added Rodrigues.

In Savio’s point of view, one of the most important teachings of Jesus that can help keep conflict at bay, is the principle of love and forgiveness. Jesus emphasised on forgiving even those who wrong us, and loving one another, including our enemies.

Savio further believes, ‘To follow this teaching, we need a shift in mindset, focusing on empathy, understanding, and compassion, even in difficult situations. It requires letting go of grudges and choosing reconciliation over retaliation. Love your neighbour as you love yourself.’

‘Humanity was created in God’s wisdom to be fruitful and to multiply. Instead, we allow our minds to be filled with pride, wrath, lust, gluttony, avarice, envy, and sloth, and these lead to conflicts in our relationships as individuals and as communities.’, he further remarked.

Readers can buy the E-book on Kindle. All monies are to go towards the NGO run by Rodrigues, the Thomas Seva Foundation, for relief work in conflict-ridden areas.

As we strive to overcome differences and promote reconciliation, let us uphold the values of peace, understanding, and cooperation, and commit ourselves to building a brighter future for generations to come.
