<p>With the introduction of the EQE 500 in the Indian market at an initial price of Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom), German luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz continues its assault on electric vehicles.</p>
<p>According to Santosh Iyer, CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, electric cars may account for up to 5% of total sales. The EQE SUV, which is the BEV portfolio’s second-highest model after the EQS 580, will be marketed in India via the CBU channel. <p>Behind EQE, Mercedes has emphasized the use of sustainable materials. The SUV’s more than 70-kilogram components are built in part from eco-friendly materials. Mercedes raises the bar for quality with a 10-year battery guarantee and a two-year service interval.</p>
<p>Design of the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV<br />
The five-seater luxury SUV borrows familiar design characteristics, including a flat grille finished in glossy black and a linked LED light strip covering the digital headlights. Chrome is utilized more sparingly in the EQE than its ICE equivalent. The SUV, which weighs over two tonnes, is mounted on air suspension, which allows the ground clearance to be changed by up to 25 mm at the press of a button. It also rides on 20-inch alloy wheels. The tailgate also has a 3D lighted light strip. The 4.8-meter-long SUV has a 3,030 mm wheelbase and a 520-liter trunk.</p>
<p>Features of the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV<br />
EQE comes with a wide range of customization possibilities. There are two upholstery choices and a total of nine exterior colors from which to choose. The 56-inch hyperscreen with the zero-layer idea is housed in the upscale interior. Burmester 3D surround sound with 15 speakers handles the acoustics. The EQE also has a HEPA filter, a HUD, and a 360-degree camera, to mention a few other features.</p>
<p>EQE SUV by Mercedes-Benz – Powertrain<br />
Its main component is a 90.5 kWh battery pack, which claims to provide 550 kilometers of range on a single charge. Permanent synchronous motors with two axles provide 407 horsepower and 800 Nm of maximum torque, allowing the EQE to accelerate to 100 kmph from a stop in less than 5 seconds. Mercedes will install a 170 kW DC charger that is very quick and an 11 kW AC charger at the customer’s preferred location for charging the EV. The EQE SUV gets a 5-star certification in the Euro crash test and has level-2 A-DAS features and 9 airbags as standard equipment.</p>
