<p>In less than two months, the Cricket World Cup will begin, and Rohit Sharma recognized that India’s issues with the No. 4 place in ODIs continue to be an issue.</p>

<p>The skipper voiced concern over the crucial position, adding that “after Yuvi [Yuvraj Singh], nobody has come and settled themselves in.” The position was a significant issue of debate before to the most recent World Cup for fifty-over cricket in England.</p>

<p>On the sidelines of a La Liga match in Mumbai, Rohit said to reporters, “Look, No. 4 has been an issue for us for a long time. Shreyas Iyer has good numbers at the position.”</p>
<p> </p>
<p>“Shreyas (Iyer) has really batted at No. 4 for a very long time and he has done well – his stats are pretty excellent.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>“Unfortunately, injuries have caused him some difficulties; he has missed some time, and to be really honest, that is what has transpired over the last 4-5 years. Many of these players are wounded, therefore a new player is constantly entering the game.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>“The number of injuries that have occurred over the last 4-5 years is staggering. I have to remark regarding No. 4 that you attempt doing new things with different players when the guys are hurt or are not available.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Out of the 11 players who have been deployed at No. 4, only Iyer and Rishabh Pant have batted more than ten times for India in ODIs since the completion of the 2019 Cricket World Cup. Iyer has still not fully recovered from a back ailment, and Pant has been disqualified from the World Cup.</p>

<p>There were a lot of males coming and going. But due to injury, some were unable to go, or someone had lost form, the captain remarked.</p>

<p>“Shreyas and KL are returning from major injuries that required operations rather than playing anything for four months. Both had surgery. I am aware since I have had surgery before, and I can attest to how difficult the recovery is. We must observe their actions and how they react.</p>

<p>Rohit said that neither he nor anyone else is certain to compete in the tournament, and that the Asia Cup selection meeting will take place in a few days.</p>

<p>“There are many names there. We will choose the best lineup for us to compete in the World Cup, but the Asia Cup comes first.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Additionally, he implied that some of the players would feel under pressure to succeed in the Asia Cup because there are World Cup berths up for grabs.</p>

<p>“We’ll see. We want to win, but there are a lot of issues that require solutions at the same time. But I’d want to watch some of the players in the Asia Cup bat under pressure for good teams.</p>

<p>We shall wait and see what transpires, but it is always great to have several names rather than just one or two names. “I still want to see those things. The most crucial thing is that they be healthy in time, therefore I hope they are.</p>
